Alan founded Olomana Marketing in 1996 and, in 2012, merged the agency with Loomis-ISC to become Olomana Loomis ISC. His background includes more than 30 years of experience in business consulting, strategic counsel, marketing, branding, public relations, corporate communications, advertising, direct marketing, crisis communications and nonprofit fund development. He has worked extensively with for-profit and nonprofit organizations as well as government agencies to develop effective strategies, programs and campaigns that deliver results.
Over the course of his career, Alan has worked at a Fortune 500 company, one of Hawaii’s Top 250 companies and advertising and public relations agencies. He has overseen marketing and corporate communications at one of Hawaii’s leading financial services companies. He has provided strategic counsel, brand management, enrollment marketing and institutional advancement services for five of Hawaii’s top private schools. Alan has also provided strategic guidance on economic revitalization projects for local municipalities, spearheaded startup development projects and worked on numerous political and issues campaigns.
Alan has been involved in leadership roles with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) – Aloha Chapter, the Pacific Plains region of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and IABC Hawaii, the marketing committee of the national board of the National Kidney Foundation and the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Honolulu. He is an alumnus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa and of several Disney Institute professional development programs.
He has guest lectured at the University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business and at Hawaii Pacific University and spoken at a number of conferences for philanthropic and community outreach organizations.
Alan enjoys traveling, wine tasting and experimenting with specialty recipes at home as well as playing golf when he can fit it into his schedule.
