SA MEDIA GROUP - Moscow, Russia
As a student of International Relations in the scientific-technological cooperation of MEPHI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute), Andrew Sushik was supposed to work at the Hadron Collider after graduation. However, during his last year of university, he took a part-time job as a sales manager at an OOH media agency in Moscow.
Andrew's mentality was shaped by various cultures. After spending the first 18 years of his life in Visaginas, Lithuania, he moved back to his motherland of Russia. He also spent a year in Ireland during college earning money to continue his studies at the MEPHI.
In 2010, Andrew opened Smart View, his first advertising agency, with some classmates. Back then it specialized only in OOH media services, but today Smart View is one of the largest independent full-service media agencies in Russia. As the agency was growing, Andrew founded a digital advertising agency, called SA Digital, and a souvenir printing company, called Daromania. As if managing three companies and bringing in new clients wasn't enough, he also started developing an ad-tech startup which he called OOHDESK.
Andrew has earned two masters degrees, one in Advertising and Marketing and the other in Strategic and Corporate Management, at Moscow State University and RANEPA respectively. His dissertation topic lead to the decision to unite all of his agencies into one group—SA MEDIA GROUP. A year later, he broadened the group's core competencies by partnering with the creative agency Ruport.
Personally, martial arts play a big role in Andrew's life. His sportsmanship journey started with Greco-Roman wrestling, where he won second place in the Lithuanian championship. He continued with Sambo, Grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Today, Andrew is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and performs in his weight category in Russia. By the age of 33, he had turned his hobby into a new business project and opened the martial arts academy FSA (Fighting Sport Arts). He partnered FSA with the leading MMA organisations in the region: Fight Nights and ADCC Russia.
Entrepreneurial intuition is one of Andrew's strongest suits, and he is focused on developing the infrastructure of SA MEDIA GROUP with the acquisition of ad tech and proptech startups, which he believes are the future of the media industry. Philanthropy also plays a big role in Andrew’s life, as he supports rugby athletes and martial arts fighters in Lithuania and Russia.
