With close to three decades of active practice in marketing communications, Ola belongs to the second generation of professionals in Nigeria who ushered in the integrated approach to brand communications. With an undergraduate degree in English Literature and MBA in marketing, he was prepared to assume leadership positions in various agencies where he gained valuable experiences.
Ola started his career at Hunters Publicity, Grant Advertising and finally at TBWA\Concept before he set up Niche IM Communications nine years ago. His work in the marketing communications industry has transversed copywriting, media management, strategy development and client service. While at TBWA, he led the team that launched award-winning and best-acclaimed campaigns for premium brands such as MTN mobile telecommunications, Panadol Extra analgesic, Virgin Airlines and others.
Ola established Niche IMC at a time when the marketing communications industry faced serious economic challenges and the larger economy was turbulent. That led to the folding of many agencies of all sizes. Although it was not the right time to set up a business, Ola’s determination and crystal-clear vision helped him overcome seemingly inevitable setbacks. With resilience and doggedness, he has made Niche IMC one of the fastest-growing agencies in Nigeria serving a diverse client base ranging from fast-moving consumer goods, telecoms, banking, insurance, presidential elections, professional/trade associations, higher education and healthcare providers to building material manufacturers.
Ola is known to be a bridge between the old and new generations of industry professionals, having trained and mentored some young, vibrant marketing communications practitioners. He has a huge number of young people as intimate friends both within and outside the industry, perhaps a major reason for he was chosen to be the leader of a youth group in his church.
As a fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), a full member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and an active member of Rotary Club, Ola has always accepted the responsibility of setting high standards as a professional and good community and family man.
