View AllLeavingstone’s Anthem Award-Winning Campaign Reclaims Georgia’s Female Voices
We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our Georgian agency, Leavingstone, whose campaign “Change Has a Female Voice” has won Gold at The Anthem Awards, an international honor recognizing purpose and mission-driven work.
Partnering with UN Women, the campaign aimed to empower greater political participation among women in Georgia by resurfacing long-silenced voices from the country’s rich history of female leadership. From King Tamar in the 12th century to more recent activists, these stories (once buried during the Soviet era) were powerfully revived through digital archives, PR, and media storytelling.
“For us, it was also important to reference Georgia’s current challenging context. There have been ongoing protests against the authoritarian government for over a year now, and women are playing a major role in this movement. We wanted to highlight that reality and make our small contribution, encouraging new female politicians,” shared the Leavingstone team.
Through striking historical parallels and a digital-first strategy, the campaign turned its central message into a powerful call to action. And the results speak volumes:
- Reached 1.4 million unique users, nearly half the Georgian population
- Earned coverage from 80% of national media outlets
- Drove record-high voter turnout among women, surpassing male participation in the capital
- Inspired political parties to triple the number of female candidates
- Enabled 68% of election observers to be women
Rooted in Leavingstone’s fearless creativity and commitment to social impact, the campaign aligns with ICOM’s values of open-mindedness, adaptive excellence, and curiosity. It exemplifies how independent agencies can spark meaningful change—locally and globally.
Congratulations to the entire team on this well-deserved recognition!
