the challenge

Did the world really need another brand to enter the glutted space of cleverly marketed grooming products? Well, our entrepreneurial client absolutely knew so and contacted us to help make some noise. Based on years of success in mixing rave-review-getting formulations for the hospitality industry, she was driven to break through into retail with a new, higher-quality shaving experience for men. Using both know-how and passion, she had a fresh soap-forward, silky cream on her hands crafted to elevate a daily, and sometimes painful, chore into an anticipated, refreshing ritual.

The Answer

Unphased by the sheer volume of competitive brands and products out there, we took a survey of the landscape. What we discovered was an opportunity to carve a new path. That we did. Inspired by the integrity of the product’s ingredients, we launched a bona fide new brand that smacks of fierce independence and authentic, raw individualism. From the naming and persona development, to the hand-painted logo and packaging design, to the written and visual storytelling, Crooked Chaps is straight-up different.
