ROLLINSVILLE, COLORADO (USA)–ICOM,<\/a>\u00a0a leading global network of independent advertising and marketing communications agencies, has appointed Goman Advertising, based in Lusaka, to represent the network in Zambia.<\/p>\n

Goman is ICOM\u2019s fourth agency in Africa, a rapidly developing region that is of growing importance to ICOM clients. The agency becomes part of ICOM\u2019s EMEA region, now comprised of members in 34 countries.<\/p>\n

The Zambian agency provides a range of integrated advertising and marketing communications services, including media planning and buying and public relations. The agency\u2019s growing client list includes Industrial Credit Co. financial services, Mark Royal whiskey, Miller beer, Parmalat dairy products and South African Airways.<\/p>\n

Goman was founded and is run by CEO Norman C. Muntemba, who worked for several agencies, including McCann Erickson, prior to opening Goman in 1991. A lecturer in advertising, marketing and public relations at educational institutions, Mr. Muntemba said he is looking to broaden the agency\u2019s outlook beyond the country\u2019s borders and to learn from members about the development of the marketing communications industry in other countries.<\/p>\n

In welcoming ICOM\u2019s newest member, Executive Director Gary Burandt said Goman Advertising not only adds to ICOM\u2019s international presence but reinforces the network\u2019s reputation as the most geographically balanced of international independent advertising and marketing communications networks.<\/p>\n

ICOM has more than 70\u00a0member agencies<\/a>\u00a0in 50-plus countries. Founded in 1950 as the National Federation of Advertising Agencies, ICOM offers clients an alternative to the huge and increasingly similar agency groups. Today, the network has billings of US$2.4 billion and gross income exceeding US $390 million.<\/p>\n
