It all started from an absolutely crazy idea. We were talking about graphic engineering in a meeting when somebody said jokingly “You’re not really going to develop a graphic layouts by pressing on a button are you?”.
A few days later, NETCO’s graphic artists said “Why not?”. The adventure took us 3 years. Our plan started in 2005 with the first online survey of engineering students. The second survey took place in January 2008.
With 120,000 contacts in France, the return was 0.5%. Note; contacts who knew the agency answered more readily (18%) than contacts drawn from directories (0.2%).
The results of this survey yielded three major tendencies of engineering students:
1) Preference for pictures (48%) in comparison with illustrations
2) Priority for round forms (40%), for both sexes, compared with straight lines or ethnic forms
3) Perfect cohabitation between environmental thinking (20%), attraction of new technologies (18%) and willingness to profit in the present moment (14%).
