Have you heard the ICOM song?
If you missed the International Management Conference in Cancun, you missed a good one.  The returned meeting evaluations indicated that members felt the content of the business sessions was the best we have ever had and quite relevant to today’s business environment.

Eddie Gonzalez, Y&R’s Chairman of Latin America told the group about how

international accounts are handled in that big organization. Not just the good but also why some go bad.

Dr. Bob Morrison, The Morrison Agency, Atlanta, lead a “What Keeps You Up” session that featured winning new business presentations from Dialogo in Argentina, Rino in Brazil and Cramer-Krasselt in Chicago.

Gene Keenan of the Mobile Media Marketing Association talked about the extraordinary things we will be doing with our cell phones.

Brad Fay, COO of the Keller Fay Group, told us about the growth and measurement of Word of Mouth Marketing,

John Prunier, a Partner in Petsky Prunier, Investment Bankers talked about succession planning and the exit options members could consider when they’ve had enough.

But perhaps the most fun and useful session was about raising ICOM’s profile in the marketplace lead by Mike Brown of TRC Worldwide.  We will be using the input from this activity to help build a marketing plan for the network.

You can see most of the presentations on the Members Only side of our web site (http://www.icomagencies.com).

At the general meeting the members approved the revised By-laws and Policies.  We also agreed that all members should fill out and return the new Agency and Personal Profile forms.  Having this information will make building international new business presentations much easier.

Finally we announced that next year’s international meeting will be in Beijing, China in late April.
