Spotlight Named as First Agency to Represent ICOM in Romania

ICOM has appointed Spotlight, a Bucharest firm, to represent the independent agency network in Romania.

A leading global network of independent advertising and marketing communications agencies, ICOM continues to strengthen its geographic coverage in order to meet clients’ needs for advertising and marketing expertise everywhere in the world.

“We are prepared wherever our clients need us,” said ICOM Executive Director Gary Burandt. “Spotlight fills that role in Romania. We are pleased to welcome the agency as our newest member.”

As with many ICOM members, the Spotlight wants international access and capabilities without giving up its independence. Commented Alina Musat, Spotlight managing director, "We value our independence highly. We know we will benefit from the experience of all ICOM member agencies. At the same time, we believe that our experience and knowledge of the Romanian market will be valuable to our new partners, especially now that Romania is entering the European Union."

Seven-year-old Spotlight offers a full range of integrated services and serves a variety of international and local businesses, including Daewoo, KFC, Marriott and Pizza Hut. The agency is a member of the Romanian Advertising Agencies Association and the Romanian chapter of the International Advertising Association.

Rollinsville, Colorado (USA)-based ICOM is the most balanced of the international independent advertising and marketing communications networks offering a full range of integrated marketing and media communications services. The network of 85+ member agencies in 50+ countries offers clients an alternative to the huge and increasingly similar agency groups. ICOM was founded in 1950 as the National Federation of Advertising Agencies. Today, the network has billings of US $2 billion and gross income of US$300 million.
